The Fatima Secret
Author: Michael Heseman
This book is a selection from the Whitley Strieber "Hidden Agenda" Series. Heseman produces the intricate details of the appearance of the Virgin Mother of Fatima to three young Portugese children in 1917. There were three prophetic visions presented to the children, two of which were known to the world immediately. The third, however, was kept secret, although it appears it was not the Virgin Mother's intention for it to be so.
Heseman, who is well known to many high Vatican officials and therefore has very good sources of information to rely on , attempts to present to the reader with an overview of what could be contained in the third secret that could possibly frighten Vatican officials including ruling popes from 1917 to John Paul II. The three "secrets" in fact, were not intended to be secrets at all, so what made the Vatican so nervous in revealing the last prophetic vision?
Not only does Heseman go into the miracle of the Virgin Mother's appearance and the three main visions in 1917, but also details of the continued visions throughout the years to Lucia, the only remaining child. These extra insights assist in explaining the mystery of the third secret, while giving us more fodder for thought.
Although the first half of the book tends to drag you down in facts, they are quite necessary to the conclusion of the book and will hold your attention none-the-less. It is essential that you have a knowledgable basis to work with prior to going ahead with the rest of Heseman's theory as to why the Vatican acted in the manner it did. There are a few surprises within the book itself that will definately make you question your beliefs. At the very least this book will have you dwelling on what God may actually be and what he/she really intends for mankind.
Niagara's Ghosts at Fort George
Author: Kyle Upton
I received this book as a gift from a good friend, when we did a ghost tour of Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake in June, 2001. It just so happened that our tour guide was Kyle Upton himself.
Kyle has compiled, in his exemplary story telling fashion, experiences that he and his colleagues have had over the years. In addition to the marvelous stories he relates, he offers the reader choices in their belief system with respect to each one. Never at any time does he insist the reader believe without doubt that ghosts are the end-all and be-all of Fort George. It is refreshing to note that the author himself is sceptical at times when it comes to some of these tales althought he starts off by admitting his belief in ghosts.
The book not only contains ghost stories with humour, but hints delightfully at the history of the fort which makes reading it a must for kids. Children love to hear ghostly tales, but in this case they learn some of the rich history of the area, which makes it an excellant resource in my eyes.
Kyle Upton has been doing the "Ghost Tours" since 1994 in association with the "Friends of Fort George". These tours have proven to be a learning and ghostly experience for those who have enjoyed them. For those of you who live in southern Ontario, Upper New York State and northern Ohio, your time would be well spent to take a day trip to Fort George for the Fort George Ghost Tour. It is a great way to entertain the kids and yourselves while learning the history of the region. I know I will be returning next summer to do the tour again!

The Eagle and The Rose
Author: by Rosemary Altea
After being compared to this author by a few people, I decided, out of curiousity, to read this book, although I don't normally read books by other mediums or psychics, (simply because I really don't get much from them).
This book was not your typical "this is what I do and how I do it" book. This woman relates her life story and how she came to be doing what she does so well. It was truly inspiring. She discusses many issues here that are not necessarily psychically related but are definately spiritual in nature.
She has been through many trials and tribulations in her life, hence the comparison to myself. I find that her story is very similar to mine with one exception. I didn't discover my talents later in life, I knew about them all along. She knows first hand, the damage and degradation of childhood abuse, domestic abuse and the fight to change these things and break the cycle for your children.
Her story is an interesting one, even if you were not reading it for the paranormal content. However, having said that, her case histories with respect to the paranormal and her journey concerning it are quite facinating.
This definately is a recommended read if for no other reason than the human interest factor.
